The film linked above, commissioned by MFC, was only possible because of the genuine involvement of Patrons and we want to continue rightly crediting those who contributed their lived experience. However, possible safeguarding and data protection concerns meant the names had to be temporarily removed, while the reference to their contributions was maintained.
We would like to seek the appropriate permissions from contributors so they are safely acknowledged. Any contributor who feels able to be personally acknowledged, please contact info@mentalfightclub to make arrangements.
MFC is greatly indebted to all its patrons for their contributions, and their support.
We’re developing a series of creative resources to be shared widely with people with lived experience, loved ones, mental health professionals, researchers and policy makers.
Our first creative piece is the animated film Living with Suicide co-created by nine people with lived experience. It was launched on the 10th September 2020, World Suicide Prevention Day. It is a film about pain, despair and rage, but it is ultimately about survival.
Living with Suicide forms part of our two-year Wellcome Trust funded arts and research programme Create, Relate, Integrate.
We thank everyone who shared their stories, creativity and fighting spirit, and the Wellcome Trust for their generous support.
